Michigan Updates: Deputy Mayor Todd Bettison Launches Grow Detroit’s Young Talent 2023 Summer Work Experience Program, Providing Opportunities for Over 8,000 Detroit Youth

The Grow Detroit’s Young Talent (GDYT) program has launched its summer jobs program for Detroit youth ages 14-24. This year, the program will provide 8,546 work experiences, bringing the total number of summer job experiences created for Detroit youth to over 70,000 since the program’s launch in 2015.

The program aims to equip young people with the necessary life skills to succeed in the workforce. The launch event was attended by Deputy Mayor Todd Bettison, City Council members, employers, funding partners, and Detroit youth. City Council President Mary Sheffield expressed her support for the program and highlighted the success of previous interns who have gone on to achieve great success in various sectors.
